2. What We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

• Email address — to send your daily briefing.
• Topic preferences — the content categories you select at signup (technology, finance, geopolitics).
• Subscription status — whether your subscription is active, stored in our database.
• Payment data — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card details.

We do not use tracking pixels, behavioral analytics, or sell data to advertisers.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Delivering your curated morning briefing every day at 6 AM.
• Processing your subscription and managing billing through Stripe.
• Sending transactional emails (welcome message, subscription confirmation).
• Improving content curation based on selected topic categories.

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the newsletter.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party processors:

• Stripe — payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
• Supabase — secure database hosting for email addresses and preferences. Subject to Supabase's Privacy Policy.
• Cloudflare Turnstile — spam protection on our signup form. Subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

Each processor is contractually required to protect your data in accordance with applicable law.

5. Data Retention

We retain your email and preferences for as long as your subscription is active. If you unsubscribe or request deletion, we will remove your data within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Request correction or deletion of your data.
• Withdraw consent and unsubscribe at any time.
• Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority (EU/EEA residents).

To exercise any right, email contact@daybreak-brief.com with your request. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Cookies

We do not use tracking or marketing cookies. Cloudflare Turnstile may set a functional cookie during the signup process for spam prevention purposes only.

8. Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Your data is stored in Supabase, which provides encryption at rest and in transit. Payment data is processed directly by Stripe and never touches our servers.

9. Children's Privacy

Daybreak Brief is not directed at anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has submitted data to us, contact us immediately at contact@daybreak-brief.com.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
